CLASS STRUCTURES

  • Thompson Kart Raceway is a member track of the NKA.  Racing operations are regulated by the NKA Tech Manual unless otherwise noted.

  • In the interests of our Club's membership, CKRA class structures deviate from the associated class structures listed in the NKA Tech Manual.

  • If any particular exception or deviation is not specifically indicated below, then follow NKA regulations.

  • It is the responsibility of the driver/crew chief to know and understand the rules. 

  • NKA updates their regulations as necessary throughout the year and can be viewed on the NKA website.

  • CKRA also reserves the right to update regulations as necessary and will post updates on the CKRA website.

CADET 2-CYCLE

  • ages 8 to 12

  • IAME Micro Swift 

  • Weight: 250#

  • Micro ROK 

  • Weight: 255#

  • Yamaha is welcome to run (235#), but parity will not be possible. 

  • CKRA reserves the right to make adjustments to class specs in the interest of maintaining parity.

KID KARTS

  • ages 5 to 7

  • Participation class per NKA rules to allow children to learn to race in a friendly, fun environment.

  • No season points. Participation awards to each Kid Kart driver.

  • Gearing: Chain

    • Comer - #219, 10 tooth front sprocket, 89 tooth rear sprocket

    • 206 - #35 chain, 17 tooth front sprocket, 57 tooth rear sprocket

  • Tire size 10 x 450 or 460 x 5 with maximum rear tire circumference 33.75"

    • Option One: Minimum 150 lbs. - for Kart with Comer 50/51cc

    • Option Two: Minimum 170 lbs - for Kart with Briggs 206​

CADET BRIGGS 206

      • Maximum kart only weight (without driver) for Green slide is 205 lbs.

  • Drivers 18 years and older who are over 200lbs. can request an age waiver.

NOVICE GROUP(S)​

  • This group will be run on an as-needed basis to provide a place for new participants to learn to race without the hazard of running with seasoned veterans.

  • The group can be comprised of 2-Cycle and 206 drivers of the same age group.

  • Finishing position will be as if they finished at the tail end of the appropriate class.

    • For example, if there were 6 entries in the Cadet 2-cycle class, the highest finishing Cadet 2-cycle in the Novice Group would receive 7th place points for the day, and so on with any other Cadet 2-cycle. The same practice would apply to the Cadet Briggs 206 in that Novice Group.

  • This concept can be applied to any class if the number of entries warrant its use.
